The Kindling style is a line I designed after carrying my knives on my belt and at the farm. It is a perfect blend of function, comfort, and style. The 'ridge' on the bottom of the handle on the Original, 4XL and 5XL is designed to fit perfectly between your middle and ring finger. Function and class, what more can you ask? The Kindling has gone through 3 iterations, the first was drastically changing the handle shape from a smooth handle belly to a shaped ridge. The second was changing the handle dimensions slightly to fit even more comfortably, and the third was refining the handle to its final dimensions for a perfect grip in a variety of hand sizes.

Kindling 5XL

The Kindling 5XL is my biggest Kindling knife (so far...). With a 5" blade and an XL" handle it measures 9.75" overall. The '5' in 5XL stands for the 5" blade and the 'XL' stands for the large 4.75" handle. I have made the 5XL with both thin and nimble handle scales and large handle scales for a full grip. With a 5" blade, this piece is made for work. When I talk about the 4XL (below) I go into more depth about the XL handle!

Kindling 4XL

The Kindling 4XL is one of the newest designs of the Kindling line and one of the crowd's favourites. The 4XL keeps the 4" long blade of the Original but it has an XL handle stretching from 4" to 4.75". The 0.75" longer handle is designed for larger hands as with bigger hands, it fills out oyur hand perfectly. The reason I designed the longer handle was that when I was holding the 4" handle, because of the size of my hands, the top corner of the butt end was pressing directly into my palm. The handle of the original is designed to be comfortable, and even when in large hands, it is, but I wanted one where the handle stretched all the way across my closed palm. Hence, the 4XL was made, and from comfort to functionality, it works exactly as it should.

Original Kindling

The Original Kindling will always be one of my first picks when choosing what knife goes on my belt and is currently in my pocket in a leather pocket sheath.  This was the first knife design I carried on the farm, and after a few tweaks, it stayed on my belt for years to come. The style is also inspired by what I had to make the piece with when I started making knives; a Nicholson AXE file and some basic tools. From the AXE file, the first Kindling was created. Drop point style blades are incredibly versatile and with a comfortable handle, they can baton wood, create feather sticks, strip electrical wires, prepare food, and so much more. On some of the pieces pictured below, you can see the customization that can be done from colors, handle scale materials, and laser art.

3.5 Kindling

The 3.5 Kindling is very similar to the original however this one features a 3.5" blade instead of 4".  This small change makes the tip closer and easier to reach with your forefinger for accurate control.

Kindling Mini

The Kindling Mini is the smallest Kindling I offer with a total length of 6.5" with a 3" blade and 3.5" handle. These are easy to carry, light, and nimble for a wide variety of small camp/edc/hunting tasks.
